IGAP is a variant of IGMPv2 that adds user authentication. IGAP enables an IP multicast service provider to authenticate requests to join a specific multicast group based on user information.
All IGAP messages are sent with the IP TTL field set to 1 and use the IP Router Alert option in their IP header as per the IGMPv2 requirements.
